Ian started with his home town club Plymouth Argyle representing them at youth, reserve & first team levels before joining the Army. Previous clubs include; Havant & Waterlooville, Fleet Town,Brockenhurst and Chichester.

Squad 2007 / 08

Goalkeepers

Anthony Ender: 

Anthony is a big stopper who has a reputation for saving penalties.  Anthony is a former Luton Town trainee who is currently studying at Chichester University.

Steve Phillips: 

 Steve is a young goalkeeper who made nearly 40 appearances last season.  All at Wick FC have high hopes for the future with Steve.

Defenders

Dave Sharman: (picture will appear soon )         

Dave has been the club captain for the past 2 seasons and is a very reliable defender. Dave has made over 100 appearances for the club and his only former club was Lancing.

Paul Jones:    

At 6' 4 Paul is a very imposing figure at Centre Half, equally competitive in either penalty area and very composed on the ball ( for a defender !! ) Won the Sussex league in 2004 with Chichester. Previous clubs include: Yeovil Town,Arundel, Newport IOW and Chichester City Utd.

Clay Lamont:  

 Clay is a powerhouse Centre Half with a never say die attitude and a wealth of experience. Previous clubs include Worthing, Ringmer, Whitehawk and Three Bridges.

Midfielders

Tom Manton: 

 Tom is a former Wick FC youth player who has progressed through the ranks to become a  valuable member of the first team squad. Tom has over 100 appearances for the club and has scored over 30 goals from midfield.

Neil Murfin:  

Neil is a previous County League championship winner.  Quietly effective wherever he plays and the complete competitor. Neils only previous club is Chichester City United making nearly 250 appearances. Neil has also been selected to play for the County at Senior level.

Ben Torode: 

Ben is an accomplished young defender who is into his second season at Wick.  Ben is pacy and has good fitness levels. Ben made nearly 50 appearances for the Wickers last season.  Bens former clubs include Littlehampton and East Preston.

Phil Turner:  

Phil made 42 appearances and scored 12 goals last season.  Phil is extremely quick and he will be looking to better last seasons goalscoring tally.

Gareth Green: 

Gareth is a well known and established player on the County circuit. Gareth played for and starred at Whitehawk last season who finished 2nd in the league and runners up in the RUR Cup. Gareth is an excellent aquisition to this years squad. Previous clubs include Southwick, Three Bridges, Lewes, Bognor and Shoreham.

Forwards

Dom Shepherd:  

Dom is a goalscorer. He is an accomplished leader of the line and is very experienced. Dom missed most of last season due to injury and took this time to manage over at Southwick.  Previous clubs include Brighton and Hove Albion, Shoreham, Lewes, Burgess Hill, Selsey, Glenavon and Derry City.

 

Scott Murfin: 

Scott was also a member of the Chichester title winning team. Scott has represented the County at Under 18 level. Scott is a fantastic competitor and is hungry for success. Pace and trickery with no small amount of aggression will make Scott a real crowd pleaser.
